Zhengbin Open-air Schoolyard
“Zhengbin Open-air Schoolyard" is a three-year project designed to gather local communities of the Zhengbin area in Keelung to start a conversation on the possibilities to interpret and re-imagine the character of Zhengbin. This is done based on the collection of knowledge of Keelung's local climate, terrain, geographical location, ecology and culture in humanities. A dialogue on the relationship between humans and nature is at it’s fundamental base.
Through a variety of hands-on outdoor courses, 10 artists and experts come to mingle in a cross-disciplinary collaboration aimed to reinforce nature education, specifically on the subject of ‘rain’, ‘mountain’ and ‘sea’, the fundamental entities of Keelung. The first year was presented through a series of 6 workshops that were hosted among the general public, local schools and in-field artists and designers.
